Wooden floor finish - satin or gloss varnish?

I've got 2 floors sanded andready for varnish and am undecided between gloss and satin. From looking on the web it seems gloss is harder wearing and easier to clean but satin hides imperfections better.

What do you folks do and what do you recommend for the best look?

I use polyurethane satin finish
