Wooden Lintel

Hi all,

I have this arrangement on my back French doors with wooden Lintel.

Is this normal? Is it safe? No rot or anything

That's not a lintel. The lintel is below the soldier course. Maybe something to fix a a canopy to or a strange temporary support while the brickwork below was rebuilt, as it doesn't look original?
