In the property we are about to move into, we have woodworm. It's not old inactive woodworm, it is definitely active.

We seem to have it mainly in the old parquet flooring, but only in patches next to a light source. We also have a few signs upstairs.

I am not sure which is the best treatment out there. I have heard a lot of good things about the Boron based treatment that Safegaurd use, as it doesn't seem quite so hazzardess as other chemicals.

My main query is how to apply. On the parquet flooring there is obviously a varnish. Do you think I should sand down first then apply, or would it still soak through the varnish?

Any advice would be helpful. I know a lot of people seem to think these things hardly ever exist, but mine do - they have a pulse :)

Any other chemicals that you would advise?

Thanks.

Believe me, we believe you !

Try cupanol chemical treatment (read the instructions carefully and act acordingly!).

Thanks.

When you say cupanol I assume you mean cuprinol?

I did a search for cupanol, and it seems it's some infant based paracetamol product :) But hey, if it works ;)
