I have a teak veneered dresser and some dining chairs (plywood seats and backs) which have been attacked by woodworm due to poor storage conditions. I'm moving broad and they have sentimental value so I'd like to take them with me. I don't have the time/space/experience to treat them myself currently so I'm looking for professional places which I can drop them off at and who will guarantee treatment.

Unfortunately either my googling skills are letting me down or there doesn't seem to be any places in my area who cover this type of service. Does anyone know of any places near(ish) me who offer this service? Or could give me better search terms which would allow me to investigate this better?

Any advice much appreciated.

Really surprised I've not received any replies to this. :( Unsurprisingly I've not had much luck finding a suitable solution. Every time I search for this type of thing I just get woodworm treatment for property's, homes etc. What I want is just treatment for some furniture. Thought I'd just post again in the hope someone with knowledge of this might see it. Anyone?

A professional furniture woodworm treatment service
involves a survey to assess the infestation, followed by targeted treatment using methods like surface sprays, fumigation, or heat treatment to kill the larvae and prevent re-infestation. Companies like Rentokil and JG Pest Control offer these services, which can include guarantees on their work

Having done a search on Google all I get are house treatment options. It looks as if its a simple matter of spraying/brushing stuff on to eradicate them. Perhaps that’s why companies dont offer this service.

It may be worth asking on a local facebook group to see if anyone can recommend somewhere. Companies often look at those types of posts and may come forward.

Good luck.

I think you may not be getting replies because it really is just a matter of splashing some treatment on, and making sure you keep an eye on them, and keep them dry in future.

There is a treatment which I've used which is really easy, and would get round the problems of chemical smells etc:

The problem with furniture is that it is typically coated, and so surface application is not possible unless it's sanded.

Google for specialist furniture restoration.
