Fault: The boiler lights for central heating and then it will shutdown sometimes in 10 seconds, sometimes a couple of minutes maybe longer. Then it tries to relight immediately but sparks repeatedly at the relay on the sequencer board, eventually lighting, to repeat the above process with demand for central heating. However it works perfectly with demand for hot water, but will occasionally trip out the thermal overload after extended demand for hot water.

The fault has been going on for several months, and I've carried out all of the electrical checks in the installation and servicing insturctions and all checked out OK, but unable to carry out any gas pressure tests.

 with out looking at your boiler its difficult to say about the central heating problem, but the hot water is being caused by debris in the heat ex, I just spent half the day today doing a chemical flush out on one of these. cant remember what i used though as I`v had to much shiraz.
now running a treat though.
