Hi,

I have a worcester 24i boiler, when I turn the heating on or run the hot tap it makes a whirring noise like it wants to work, but it seems like it's not igniting.

The pressure bar is just over 1, nearly 1.5 and hasn't gone down so I assume it's not a problem with that. There is only one light, which I assume is a power light, as it is constant unless I switch it off at the plug.

I've read lots of other posts about similar problems and people refer to a reset button. I can't find it! On top of the boiler is simple two 'things' - one is a screw type and the other is a red cap and if I take it off, underneath is just a knob or 'thing' - sorry I have no idea what to describe them as. But anyway, neither are buttons or pressable in any way.

I've tried unplugging and going again but it's not helping. It's been off since friday so have been rather cold since then and been boiling water just to wash!! The landlord said he'll send someone round, but how long that'll take is anyones guess.

I would just like to know if there is any simple reason/solutions?! If not, then I'll have to wait it out.

Oh and it wouldn't mean the gas company have cut us off would it?! I doubt it but can't help panicking!

Thankyou

The button at the front is the reset button.

Can you hear the fan kicking off then a few clicks? As if it is trying to ignite?

Hi,

No it doesn't make a clicking noise, just a quieter version of what it normally does...a kind of murmuring/whirring.
