I have a Worcester 24i RSF Combi boiler. The heating packed up last year ( water kept draining from the system???, grinding and banging noise's) and two weeks ago the pilot light went out so no hot water! the boiler is around 10 - 15 yrs old. how does the piolet relight? do I need a whole new boiler or could this problem be fixable?

Am i mistaken in reading this as uve had no heating since last year (surely not !)

If thats the case and u could still get hot water but no heating, which is possible as i see it quite a lot, u want to look firstly at the pump. Is it the water pressure ok in the boiler (1-1.2bar when cold) ? Is the pump turning ? Is there water flowing from the relief pipe outside ?

Things to check then

1. Water pressure
2. Pump
3. Relief pipework for water "overflow"

Relighting the pilot is a straight forward procedure, though i thought these were electronic ignition boilers (of the top of my head i cant remember now) eg. no pilot light - boiler lights automatically.

Im sure the faq's has a section on pilot lighting procedures.

EDIT - it doesnt ^^^^

Going to dig out the book for this to remember what it looks like ! Back Soon

No your not mistaken  no heating since last year, its been a blinking cold winter !
Water pressure unstable (when hot & cold) and water has been leaking from the relief pipe outside.
 don't know about pump???

why live without heating ,these faults can be fixed,
surly heating is more important than a computer.
