Hi guys every now and again the boiler locks out when there's hot water demand and more rarely CH. We have been resetting the boiler and it normally works fine after. The problem has been getting progressively worse lately and I decided to investigate.

Looking at the service manual it fails with error "H" Burner lockout. Following the flow diagrams it asks to pull the connector from the board and test pins 7&8 and then 9&10. Presumably to test the coils in the gas valve solenoid. If the readings are below 100ohms then it says to change the circuit board. Both pairs of connectors read approx 66ohms.

So according to the service manual it's the board however the manual also says failing that, change the gas valve!

Which is the more likely culprit? Both are very expensive to replace!

It's usually the flux capacitor on these boilers, it's behind the pcb.

For starters don't trust the manual, it's crap.
