Hi All

My first post on here. Wondered if you can help me on behalf of my parents (retired).

I know this is an old boiler but it has chugged along with no probs and been regularly serviced.

For the past week or so they have not been able to get hot water without the heating being on. Is this due to a faulty programmer?? A search on here also mentions a diverter valve. Are these easy to test and replace.

Many thanks

Its does sound like the diverter i'm afraid. If its the original DV thats still on it, it may be just the sychron motor in the valve that needs replacing.

Easy enough job, If the valve is seized and needs replacing then that is much more involved.

Thanks for the reply.

I've had a look at the programmer and it tests ok (i'm not too bad with a multimeter)

How would i check the syncron motor that you suggested it may be before moving onto a seized valve
