Hi, have just had a Worcester engineer fix messed up boiler due to frozen outlet pipe for condenser and water backing up and damaging parts. I mentioned to engineer that the visible part of the outlet pipe, running underneath boiler in kitchen, always has some water in it. He told me it shouldn't have any water in it at all. Having searched on internet a bit, believe he was wrong, but am not sure! Am obviously a bit worried as if water is not supposed to be there, then it may all back up again one day (though have now lagged external pipes) and cause same problems. Should that standing water be in the pipe, or should it be empty of water? Also, should you be able to remove the outlet pipe from the external pipes/plumbing (servicing, etc?). Mine is stuck fast into another pipe, which is barely visible from the hole in the wall going outside (which then leads out to exterior pipe which froze). Am not technical, but am hoping someone here can either confirm all is fine or that I need to get someone in quick to clear the water! (boiler engineer said they only fix the boiler, a plumber would have to tackle the outlet pipe).
Am also finding that, even though I have reset the receiver on the boiler, and the transmitter on the wall, my heating will not come on automatically any more, but have to keep pressing manual override each morning. May have to get him back if the repair has somehow messed that up! If anyone knows why this may be happening, I would appreciate your advice.
Thank you!
