I have noticed today that when the hot water is put on the heating wont kick in.
I managed to get the demand light to come on for a split second by turning the hot tap on and off sharply.
I know there is a sensor in the hot water feed pipe and i have checked the resistance which stays at 23 ohms wether the water is on or off.
Is there anything else i can check to make sure it is this sensor at fault.
Central heating is working fine.

Being a ****........have found the diverter valve thingy and the black plunger is only moving out half way...
If I pull it all the way out the water heating fires up, horraahhh.
I pressume the diaphram is at fault, can anyone give direction on how to do and where to get the parts...

Cheers

well if its a 240rsf the diverter valve is electric i take it that the black plunger you are talking about must be the manual lever on the underside of the valve so it sounds like the motor has had it to do it properly you need to remove the pressure vessel to gain acsses to the screw so you can remove the top of the valve then remove the 2 small screws and replace the motor or if you want to replace the whole motor they are a special and you will need to replace the 3 o rings and drain the boiler

Just when I think Ive mastered this boiler thing, an electric motor???? My diverter valve is to the left of the red tank once you drop down the front control panel?
The black push pad comes straight out of the valve to operate the micro switches. I cant see a motor.
I have found a complete valve for £85 but want to refirb the old one if possible.
The sticker on the cover states 240 rsf and inside the wiring diagram says 240.
Cheers

Mick aren't the sparky ones only on the 280? Never seen a motor on a 240.
The diaphragm is a common one - as is the whole valve in different orientations. Any heating parts botique will enlighten you, and your wallet of a few quid for a diaphragm.
