Hi

Can anyone offer some advice please. Our boiler has stopped working tonight.
The flow temp exceeds 94degrees C and then the burner shuts down until the temp falls to 78degrees C. When we turn the hot tap on the temp shoots straight back up again and back to square one.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Has someone turned off an isolating valve under the boiler by mistake?

This often happens when someone new tries to top up the pressure but doesnt know exactly what they're doing

old thread but someone might need the answer...

had the exact same problem on mine. the flow was not flowing and so the boiler would heat up, until the flow temp sensor got above 88 degrees. at which point the burner would switch off and the temp would rise up past 100 and up to 125, with gurgling and clunking noises.

reseting the boiler won't help until it cools back down to below maximum flow temp of 88 degrees or so.

anyway the solution to mine was that the pump was not pumping. it was seized and only after I unscrewed the silver screw in the middle of the pump head and forced the shaft round by hand with needle nose pliers did it come back to life. after that the flow started to flow and the temp did not shoot up anymore, sat around 60 degrees once everything was nice and hot.

hope this helps someone
