Worcester digistat not working

Can someone please help? My wireless digistat has suddenly stopped working, I didn't get a warning that the batteries were running out but the screen is now blank. I've tried new batteries but still nothing on the screen. Does this mean the thermostat has given up completely? How do I get it up and running again?
I think the model of my boiler is a worcester si ii, the digistat doesn't have a model number. It has a set and select buttons and a plus and minus button.

If screen blank, take out batteries and verify correctly fitted and no corrosion on terminals (nylon toothbrush)
