hi there.
ive just had my boiler serviced in november the guy said emissions are spot on but still fiddled for a while, readings where 9.5% he got it down to 9.2%... problem is : hot water does not get as hot as it did (turned up full on the boiler) also the heating is taking far longer to reach the required temp. (over 4 hours). before the sevice the house used to be at temp within 1 hour........please advise :(

cheers andy for the quick reply, i dont know what you mean exactly but the final combustion analyser reading is 9.2% .0005 40ppm and the service book says c02 at max 9.2... dont know what the other figures are. cheers again

have a look for instructions on how to gas rate, there might be something on here about it. if not, i'm sure there'll be plenty on the web somewhere. basically you run the hot water on full and take some readings at the gas meter. it's easy to do but it depends what meter you have, metric or imperial.

the guy did run the hot water for about 5 mins and the numbers on the gas safety record are

operating pressure....20mb
initial analyser reading.... 9.5%
final analyser reading .... 9.2% .0005 40ppm
thats all the info( numbers) i have on the sheet he left me

hi fella's
first answer its a combi
second answer the display looks the same, how could i check the status?

Gas rate it, compare that to the manfacturers spec. post back the results

It needs to be gas rated to take the diagnosis further really. When you're running the hot tap and getting poor hot water, what temperature is on the display? Probably gonna be a good idea to get him back, tell him it's not been right since he serviced it

Look in FAQ on this site for gas rate.

Then tell us!

does it have the text display unit? that can tell you all sorts of things.

does it have a TR2 connected?

hi again.
just ran the hot tap on the sink for 5 mins 3/4 turn. boiler display read 80 but the water was only warm.
boiler has a text display and tr2 fitted.
still cant find anything on gas rate.
cheers

I am sorry, the FAQ has been rewritten with new words!

Gas engineers call it "gas rate" but now its called "how much gas am I using".

Look at:-

if the primary temperature is 80 DegC when running a tap i'd expect a pretty decent hot water temperature. maybe a blocked plate-to-plate?

how's the heating?

hi
the heating is taking about 4 hours to get to 20 degrees
it used to do it within 1 hour before....cheers
