This has turned into a nightmare

Basically, put a rad in the conservatory and teed in to the 22mm flow and ret that run along the landing etc etc.. left some cleaner in for a week and returned a week later to flush out a few times and add inhibitor.

Filled up ok no probs. Hot water working fine but the heating not getting through..hmm :? So bleed pump, bleed rads, on off on off to get the air out anyway i can. Rads still not getting warm and pipes leading up from boiler not circulating it seems. So i thought pump but can hear it juggling the air about and its doing the water fine and is quiet enough and can see it rotating through end cap.

Ok so maybe diverter valve stuck for some reason by sods law. As no heat getting out of the boiler but burner on and clicking off on stat and taking ages to come back on...as no heat going anywhere.

So go tonight and fit new diverter valve and...Nothing. fock. Keep bleeding it and running it hoping it will push through. not a chance. take of pump and housing to check for any blockages but none visible.

BUT did notice in the pump housing at the outlet is a flap on a spring that obviously has to open to let the return water go into the heat exchanger. But on the top is a metal knob that can be pushed to manually open the valve thing. Now not having the manual i just assumed this manual button helped bleed the air out the pump to get water in then the water opens the flap itself with the force from the pump. Still no how water, power is to NEW diverter valve and pump appears ok and running and burner firing on demand then up to temp and shutting off. :?

So head is done in, thought everything through. System which wasnt that dirty has been cleaned out enough so cant be sludge, pump ok, diverter shifting over as new, but no flow up the pipes..

If anyone knows how the highflow works be nice to know. Does the stoarage tank on the bottom go into the domestic plate heat exchanger for good flow rates or is it a heat exchanger in itself and actually is hot water that gets taken out fo the boiler?

And to cap it all off after messing about for a few hours the effing metal knob on the pump housing decide to break its seal and **** water out and not stop. and with no way to seal ity i had to leave the poor guy with no hot water as had to drain the boiler.

FFS

sorted now. cheers for all your replys

Basically small pipe into the diverter valve which helps the diverter switch cos of pressure was blocked with cack. As very small understandable- bit crap design tho imo.

dan. (relieved) :D
