Hi,

Just had this gas combi boiler installed several days ago, and am maybe reading the manual too closely. Something I cannot figure out is - is it OK that the blue mains power light (oval on front) comes on when the boiler is switched on, then goes out.

All the literature seems to indicate that it would stay on solid. I am confused! Any help welcome. The boiler is operating fine otherwise.

That blue light should be on permanently.... If it only comes on when there is a call for heat from the timer, then they are switching the entire boiler on and off which is wrong as the boiler MUST control the pump which should run on for a while to cool the heat exchanger.... If the pump does not do this, then it will quickly ruin your heat exchanger..

Your installer needs a rocket....

Hi, thanks for the response, the blue light was actually not coming on when there was a demand for heat, only at switch on/switch off of power to the boiler. A call to Worcester and about six tries later, I was able to do the key combination that changes the light setting - apparently there is an "always on" option, and the one I had, which you might want for a bedroom etc. where the light would be annoying. I am now basking in the blue glow.

Glad you are sorted.... Even I didn't know about that option...
