Working out pressure.

I was wondering if anyone can help me plz. I want to know how far/high 1 bar of mains pressure will take you . We have been given an assignment in college in relation to putting in the cold water supplies to a 6 story building. Will obviously need a boosted supply but i need to know how far the 1bar main pressure we have been given will take me. Would appreciate the formula on how to work this out if possible plz, because i cannot for the life of me remember

Probably about as far as the bath on the first floor, you`ll need a huge storage tank & a large pump to feed all your risers supplying the flats.
