Hi,
The balcony on my girlfriend's 40 year old ex-council flat has worn away and now collects rain.
I'm wondering how to go about leveling it? Am I ok just to use a mortar mix of cement and sand then either tiling over it or painting it? Should I be considering a self-leveling compound, and can these be worked to give a slop for drainage - the drain is fixed beside the blue tub in the photo, and about an inch higher than the lowest point beside it
Any tips would be great, my plan basically involves using a spirit level, mortar mix and a bit of 2" x 4" after covering the drain with a circle of plywood, guessing there might be a better way. The cracks seem ok considering the age of the flat, just chip away the edge and fill?
Thanks
