Hi, The tread has worn on a bleeding valve and the valve is at the back / wall side. Any ideas on how to get at this or does the rad need to be removed from wall to get access?

If it's not leaking you could leave it in place and fit a new bush and air vent on the other end of the rad. You may need to reset the brackets or pack out one end to give a slight uphill angle to the new valve position.
