Hi,

My radiators are quite old and have the bleed valve at the back of them - the little square-ended type - these have worn over the years so cant be removed to bleed.

Is there an easy way to shift the air from 1 radiator to another that can be bled?

This has worked for me in the past and worth a try

Close the valves to all other rads except the rad you wanna clear the air from and the next 1 in line and the increased flow sometimes is able to push the air along.

Hope this helps

except of course that the air will rise through the water and be trapped at the top of the rads, and pipes (in UK) are almost always at bottom opposite ends.

You might consider taking the rads off, perhaps you can winkle out the old pins then and fit new ones. Rads with the bleed screw at the end usually have them in a removable plug that you can unscrew and renew, but yours probably don't :(

There's little or no chance of getting air out without air vents at the TOP of the rad. You can try removing vent screw as suggested.Getting a replacement screw may be more difficult. What a rubbish design all for the sake of appearance.
