Wrong paint used on wood

Someone has tried to be helpful and started painting some un-primed timber with very watered down emulsion. They missed the can of "wood primer" I left next to the painting tools.

What should I do to rectify this?

Let it dry then sand-down or just paint over with wood primer?

It will be fine,light sand and then ready for undercoat,If the wood was not knotted you may get knot stains come through so might be an idea to rub back where they are and apply knotting solution

It's freshly sanded and had knotting solution but now has a light mist cost.

I'll get it a light rub then undercoat.
