I have recently had a friend install UFH to an extension i built. I am now in the process of running the necessary cable for the wiring and have stumbled accross a problem that seems fairly common on these forums.

I currently have an open vented Y plan system. The plumber has put a 2 port valve on the UFH, with it's own room stat. This is where my problem lies. I've seen a lot about "backfeed" to the 3 port valve when wiring and the only solution is to change to a S plan. Is this correct and if so why did my mate not notice this!

Will attach pics when i find my bloody camera.
Thanks

you can put a blocker 2 port valve before the 3 port but you need to install another 2 port to control the ufh, although the wiring is a bit trickier it saves a lot of replumbing.
