Y valve for cold water tap

Hi all,

I'm trying to connect both a dishwasher and a washing machine to one cold water tap. I bought a y valve to connect them both but the actual pipe is very close to the wall, so the valve sits against the wall and bends a little.

This makes the valve come away from the thread and starts leaking almost immediately. Is there an alternative that I can use?

Not that I know of. You may have have to extend the pipe work to fit the y piece.

I've been trawling the web and couldn't find anything then came across this (which given my non-existent plumbing skills could be absolutely anything...)

It depends how close to the wall it goes , you might need to put a push fit elbow on the copper pipe to bringit away from the wall
