Yes, it IS rocket science !

Im better at brain surgery than rocket science, hence my question...

We got to the moon in the 60s, so why do they struggle so much now?
There’s a video where NASA explain why. They claim to have lost the technology. It all sounds very believable!!

I'm thinking fireworks.
Going up is easy. Light the blue touch paper and foxtrot oscar.

How long before we get ones which come back for another go?

Nonsense.

As in you're talking nonsense. The Apollo technology has been steadily built upon since.

The specific dies and machine tools used for various bits haven't been preserved. But that's blatantly obvious, we couldn't rebuild HMS Dreadnaught now but it'd be stupid to say we have lost the technology.

Take it up with NASA. It’s their words not mine.

They just don't have the budget, and they're not trying to point score in a cold war.

In short, putting humans back on the moon is little more than an expensive pizzing contest.

Yeah, he made a bad choice of words.

We don't have the production lines anymore, but we wouldn't want to use those anymore anyway.

In all honesty I’ll take NASA’s word for it. And when you say (We) who do you mean ? Are you a NASA contractor

It seems like they don’t have the technology. The USA can just create money! That’s not the issue and we all know that.

I'm not sure what your actual point is?

The issue is that there is no real benefit to going to the moon. So why go?

We have technology to go to Antarctica, why didn't you go there for your last holiday?

I was replying to @pete01 and you jumped in with 2 left feet. My reply is based on the video I’ve supplied. You can take it up with the chap in the video or NASA; I care not.

Why haven’t I been to Antarctica seems like a pointless question and one that’s trying to deflect. But I don’t mind playing along.

How do you know I haven’t been there for a holiday? Is it possible to go there for a holiday, given the Antarctic treaty ? Why would I go there for a holiday when I like sun and not the freezing cold ?

All these questions and more can be answered by itminion
