Hello all, just looking for a steer on blocking paving.

I have just had a quote for laying block paving, and want to see if it sounds right. I have all the block paving so this is not in the cost, it is a pure quote for the ground work and the laying of said bricks.

It is an area covering approx 25 square meters and is currently just stones
see picture (sorry best I have)

The quote it to dig out a foot lay hard core and sand then lay the blocks
and sand them, said it would take 4 days at an approx cost of 1800

As I have never had anything like this done I want to know if this sounds about right, I hope that I have given all the information needed and I have seen the rules, but if anyone can give me steer on if this is the going rate.

Thanks all

Apart from getting more quotes, I like the idea of gravel as it seams to be more secure as a noise deterrent.

if having gravel, you want the base to be rolled or compacted Hoggin

it is a mix of stones, sand, and enough clay to consolidate it. Gravel alone will not consolidate and will go into troughs where you walk or drive
