You can make a support bubble with another family no matter how large if they have a baby under 1

To me the 'support bubble' thing is almost meaningless depending on those who form it and how they conduct themselves when out and about. This whole thing is linked to our interactions in general. If I'm in a support bubble with my mum and nephew and my nephew isn't exactly careful when it comes to social distancing etc, he's then interacting with me and mum, increasing our chances of contracting the virus.

The whole thing's a mess and will remain so until the majority are vaccinated and then some.

So if you are not in Tier 4 you can mix with 2 other households. So that's 3 households that can mix- but each of these 3 households can be in a support bubble with another household in any other tier.

So you can have 3 households not in Tier 4 mixing with 3 households in Tier 4- all legal, all fun, all merry.

Why did they have to use a totally irrelevant word like 'bubble'; why could it not just be called a support 'group'?

    Taken from your link

You should not form a support bubble with a household that is part of another support bubble.

Bubble implies your shielded, protected? Also if you searched for support group - any number of groups would come up.

Support Bubble probably easier for searching.

Christmas bubble exemption is three households on xmas day only. They are not forming a support bubble.

The loophole is there if people bothered to read the regulations.
Search "childcare bubble" and see for yourself the government rules.
    "Support bubble" is something else.
