Andrew Lloyd Webber is going to write a "winning song" for the UK, in the Eurovision Song Contest.....We are now looking for a wannabe X Factor type singer to perform the song,,,, hence, Your Country Needs You..... Lloyd Webbers even been to Europe begging for votes..... What do ya think guys, worth a tenner at the bookies for another nil points again??

Roughcaster.

At the end of the day, the songs dont matter. Its all countries kissing each others big fatt backsides. Whats the point? Who's paying ALW's fee?

It wouldn't matter if you collected 10 of the world's best singers, songwriters and performers to create a UK entry to the Eurovision song (song being a very broad description of the tripe that usually gets entered) contest because the rest of Europe hates the UK and wouldn't vote for us if we were the only country in the contest.

This programme should be retitled 'Eurovision needs Us' because as i understand it, the UK, along with several other of the larger European countries, bankroll the competition every year and if we didn't enter they probably couldn't afford to stage it. Why we continue to 'invest' and enter the competition every year is beyond me when its a safe bet that we'll get dumped on again when it comes to the voting. Anyone can see the voting doesn't go with the best performance/song (and i'm not saying that that has ever recently been the UK entry) but it goes with which countries who are friends with which other countries and the public voting system hasn't helped this in the slightest. Its a complete and utter waste of time and i feel its a shame that the BBC waste the airtime in may screening the competition let alone this ever so 'exciting' song selection prgorammes. I'm surprised ALW has lowered himself to get involved.

i only used to watch it to listen to the jokes etc from terry wogan, wont bother now he isnt doing it any more.

We should pull out..its plain that other countries just wont vote for us for political reasons

But being typically Brits we just sit and take it year on year.
