your opinion on tank overflows

was wondering what you thought of having one overflow serving f/e & cold storage tanks i see it all time and just wondered if it was acceptable as both tanks are unlikely to fail together.
also lately seen a few newbuilds with no overflow atall

Both situations contravene regulations.

Very common practice at one time, but both tanks need individual outlets now. Cross contamination issues, probably.
