theres no need to remove the heater to test it, just need to get access to it!

heres a dmm that will do, ebay item no.263117717877 but to get one sooner you will need to pay a bit more. also you have to buy your own battery for this one

do you always use dw salt? hard water in your area? is there a setting for water hardness or a manual dial on some makes/models

this could be why the heater has failed, if it has, i guess 4 yrs is about right for these elements
