Zanussi FJS1225W - drum won't spin at all

Hi, first time here, so here goes.

I have the above machine, not showing any error messages. Water pump is fine, both in and out.

Issue is that the drum won't rotate at all. Clock counts down as water feeds into machine, but there is no spin or rotation. then when a proper spin should occur whole machine just freezes, clock and all.

Hubby has pulled machine out and he reckons is motor blown. Is there anything we can do to check/confirm motor has actually blown before paying to replace it and find was something else?

Last time we had issue was the water pump stopped working. Bought a new one only to find a 50p in old one blocking a pipe.
