Yesterday my FJS1225W developed a strange fault. Whenever the drum should be turning slowly (eg drain, fill, etc), it starts off slowly as it should, then has a sudden burst of spin speed, before returning to normal speed. It sometimes hasn't completely spun back down to normal speed before the relay in the control unit clicks and it starts trying to turn in the opposite direction.

I've wobbled all of the connectors on the control unit and on the motor, but this hasn't made any difference...

Any ideas?

Any help would be really appreciated,

Thanks,

Alan

Check the tacho on the back of the motor.

Unplug your appliance before working on it.

Spot on, thank you!!!

The magnet thing had come unscrewed from the motor spindle.

I've put it back together with a couple of drops of threadlock, so hopefully that'll be it sorted for good.

Thanks again,

Alan
