Zanussi fjs1425 washing machine problem

My Zanussi washing machine stopped working midway through washing - model: FJS1425 - its been givig problems for a while - it used to show ERR message - I had to press restart to get it going but now its packed up.

Can someone tell me;

What the problem could be?
Is the on board computer gone?
Is it worth servicing this problem?
How much is it likely to cost fix/service?

oops a slight amendement ....

I've just been told that the machine actually just spins as in normal washing but doesnt do anything and none of the buttons are responsive.
