Zanussi wdt 1085

our zanussi washer dryer has developed a heavy knocking sound on the spin cycle. Also there is a grey dust delevoped under the machine and in the filter door. Some research on the web suggests this is the drum weight is loose. I want to take it apart to refix, but it is not as easy as it looks. do you have any idea where i can get a service manual or instructions to do this, or is this a job for an engineer.

you wont get the manual, manufactures dont give them to joe public.

unplug it, remove all pipes and tip m/c on its back, you can probaly see from underneath

thanks, had alook from the bottom, but couldn't see anything. Looking dpwn from the top i can se alot of the dust, but it looks like problem is at the top. Do you reccomend i have a go and strip it down?

As the weights are on the front and back of this model it sounds like the front weight has come off. You could take the door seal off the front of the machine and have a look through there. If it's ripped off from the tub it's a complete strip down job.
