Zanussi WJD 1257 Not starting?

Hello, our Zanussi WJD1257 is not starting correctly; on pressing the power button, the power light comes on but that's all that happens. Normally it would beep and allow the selection of a programme - also the LED display remains off.

I've tried leaving it off for half an hour and have cleared out the fluff filter.
