Zion and the Art of Armageddon

we don't often hear of the murders of Palestinian women and children by Israelis.

It happens too often to be news.

It's what they do.

Oh well that makes the treatment of hostages in Gaza O K than ???

Genocide you say ?? Load of baloney ;)

12 for, UK and Swiss abstained. US as expected - veto. Part of the idea of the hearing was to convince the Palestinians that they will eventually get a state of their own. If passed the US would have to agree with that.

I'm beginning to wonder what they would actually do if they had their 'own state'. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians will likely not be allowed to work in Israel again for higher wages simply on security grounds, they rely on outside funding and the UN for food, education, basically everything. They are in effect professional refugees and always will be, the UN assists them to that end.

Naturally they will then blame Israel for their plight and attack them yet again, and again, with the help of Iran.

I think it's time to accept that there are people in this world who cannot be helped, who will not be helped.

Great to see filly abusing the oppressed people and suggesting they are inherently inferior.

The language of fascists and racists.

It makes him more comfortable with Israel's racism, apartheid and genocide.

It was clear the US was going to veto the vote on a Palestinian state and equally obvious the Zionists would retaliate against Iran. This war is beginning to spin faster and the rest of us can only watch and wonder if anyone has any control over events from now on...

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that it would attack Israel’s nuclear sites and may pursue a nuclear weapon if the country strikes at Iran’s nuclear facilities. “The nuclear facilities of the Zionist enemy have been identified and all the necessary information from all targets is at our disposal,” the IRGC’s Brigadier General Ahmad Haghtalab was quoted as saying by Iran’s semiofficial Tasnim news website. Haghtalab also gave what is Iran’s highest-level and most direct warning yet that it may abandon its stated policy of refraining from building a nuclear bomb.

“If the fake Zionist regime wants to use the threat of attacking the nuclear centres of our country as a tool, reconsidering the doctrine and policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and deviating from previously stated considerations would be likely and imaginable,” he said. Iran is currently enriching uranium up to 60 percent, which is a short technical step from the more than 90 percent enrichment required for an atomic bomb.

Stop Press:
According to state TV, three small unknown flying objects were intercepted near the city of Isfahan just after 4am local time.
The Iranian air defence systems were able to intercept and destroy these flying objects, state TV said. The location in Isfahan province is an Iranian military airbase that belongs to the country’s army, and not the Revolutionary Guards.

Seems Israel did send in a few drones overnight, quite a muted response. Not many reports of what, if anything, was damaged.

Curious.

Always seen as a problem in terms of a viable state. The general answer from the UN is education comes 1st and there has been some success. Also according to a Canadian politician history books have been edited but a typical Palestinians daily life is experienced by all of them. A report suggests that in terms of education the strip is doing better than the west bank. A new term is being used on that aspect - scholarcide. It involves blowing up schools and universities. These days there are plenty of jobs that get done via the web.

LOL :) I can guess your response to that. So don't bother. An element is missing but do you really think Israel will achieve that? Currently they are creating a number of Palestinians that wont like Israeli at all. That's what knocking a group back to the stone age does. Gantz had a go at that and was proud of the fact. It's really helped hasn't it.

More than 40 percent of schools (288) in Gaza are run by the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), while the rest are either directly operated by the Palestinian Authority or privately managed. All of them are currently shut as more than 85 percent of Gaza’s 2.3 million people have been displaced amid continued Israeli ground and air offensive that has killed more than 25,000 people, including 10,000 children. Up to 280 government schools and 65 UNRWA-run schools have been destroyed or damaged, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Education.

Ninety percent of Palestinian Authority schools have been subject to direct or indirect damage. About 29 percent of school buildings are out of service after being demolished or severely damaged. Israel has attacked multiple schools serving as shelters, killing displaced Palestinians. In November 2023, Israeli forces attacked the UNRWA-run Al Fakhoura school, killing at least 15 people. A week after that, at least 25 people were killed in Al-Buraq school. In December 2023, several were killed in attacks on Shadia Abu Ghazala School.

It is not just schools that have borne the brunt of the Israeli onslaught. Centres of higher education, including universities, have been completely paralysed. Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that 12 higher education institutions in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed, completely disrupting university education. Geneva-based independent Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said that Israel systemically destroyed every university in Gaza in stages. The first stage included the bombing of the Islamic and Al-Azhar universities, the monitor said in a statement.

Additionally, the Israeli army has killed 94 university professors, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said. The monitor deemed the Israeli destruction of schools an “intentional destruction of Palestinian cultural and historical properties”. Up to 4,327 students have been killed and 7,819 others have been injured as of January 16, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Education, which added that 231 teachers and administrators were also killed.

Trying to distract attention from Israel's racism, apartheid and genocide.

It has been attracting more attention and criticism than usual, and the usual smears against critics have not been so successful.

There is a theory that it's a deal with the US. They have a sort of choice. Rafar or Iran - one or the other but not both.
C4 interviewed one if Israel's senior military men, recently retired. It was pointed out that Israel has 3 problems. Lebanon, Gaza and Iran. C4 man says what a mess. Israeli man looks nonplussed but after a fashion agrees. They need to prioritise them. The US clearly wants the strip demilitarised. That way they can form as state in any form they like. It looks line the Abraham accord to me which Palastinians and others wont be happy with. UK and US will be. Looks like France may not be.

A more thorough report on an IDF raid on a refugee camp in the West Bank. Some arrests and out comes the bulldozer they always take with them. Used to rip up roads, knock down houses/shops and rip out sewers. It seems the severity of this one is similar to ones done in the past but the same sort of actions usually figure in more recent ones. Why?

Bulldozers have also been used for a certain amount of burials in hospital grounds. They are being slowly dug up. They have to be found first.

Yawn

A warning shot, or are they testing the Iranian air defences?
No way of knowing but according to rumours US related a carefully calibrated one not intending to achieve much to avoid retaliation. Geopolitics though - pass. I also wonder if Jordan is rather concerned about the situation. I did think Iran's war kit was poor but now some one has pulled it all together on the wiki it looks like they have been running their own arms race - probably effectively.
