The rich and the poorDoes it depend what X and Y represent?
Partly there's uknowns/mystery about where he wants to end up. He wants more parity on protectionism, ok. Everything we take from the US gets 20% vat slapped on, like a tariff. OK, makes some sense.I think many welcome what Trump is doing and are blind to some of the dangers.
Plenty is going wrong though.
He wants to spend less in various gov depts, ok. So he's getting rid of vast chunks, ah. Then he realised he'd sacked a load of Nuclear engineers so had to rescind that, oops. A nutter with a butcher's knife. Musk did it so it must be ok, right?? It's what usually happens in a takeover of a company. It's easier to start fresh. He's prepared to make a mess first and ask questions later, never mind the damage.
OK if people don't suffer in the short term, let alone the long - but they do.
He's missing a lot of import duty on low value packages. Section 321 De Minimus. China is taking advantage. FIne, bang them with duties. Ooooops they don't have the staff, rescind that one too. It'll probably work evetually.
And on and on. Look back in 3,10, 30 months and see where he is - rather than where he'll say he is.
As Rumsfeldt would have said, there are known unknowns and unknown unknowns as well as known knowns.
But to declare that everything is going to be bad like the leftie zealot ranter does, is assinine.
