Zuckerberg, Trump, Musk. The truth.

Since President Joe Biden took office, the economy has added nearly 14.8 million jobs, 5.4 million more than the pre-pandemic peak in early 2020. All told, it’s an average monthly job growth of more than 400,000. But Biden misleadingly contrasts that with a loss of jobs under former President Donald Trump — a loss that occurred because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Employment under Trump was positive until the economy lost 20.5 million jobs in April 2020, as efforts to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus led to business closures and layoffs. By the time Trump left office in January 2021, employment had partly rebounded, but was still 9.4 million jobs below the February 2020 peak, according to the official figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office Economic Policy released an analysis showing that the United States has done remarkably well in the recovery from the pandemic recession, driven by President Biden’s policy response. Under the Biden-Harris Administration, the United States has had the strongest growth and employment creation of any advanced country

By most objective measures, the US economy is in good shape. Employers added about 2 million jobs this year. Unemployment is low. In much of the country, gasoline is now selling for less than $3 a gallon.

The Economist has called the United States' performance "the envy of the world."

But even as the U.S. is outperforming most other countries, many Americans remain frustrated by the high cost of living. And that's fueled a lot of unhappiness, and a political comeback for President-elect Donald Trump.

Trump will soon take the reins of an economy that's bounced back strongly during the four years he was out of office.

When Biden took office in January 2021, gas prices averaged $2.42. But they shot up along with oil prices, peaking at $5 per gallon in June 2022. Through Biden’s presidency so far, gas prices have averaged $3.61. That’s 40% higher than gas prices during Trump’s entire term and 35% higher if you exclude the COVID period.

Even adjusting for inflation, gas prices have been considerably higher under Biden. The average Trump price, in 2024 dollars, was $3.18. The average Biden price was $3.86. That’s 21% higher under Biden, adjusted for inflation.

And thats why the yanks overwhelmingly voted trump in instead of Biden/ Harris
because they were having it so good and the envy of the world yeah ok

It is undisputed that the US economy is the envy of the world. So that is one of the puzzles of the election. USA is the only major economy to bounce back strongly from covid. And that is due to Biden's leadership where he worked across the aisle to pass bipartisan bills to renew and future proof the US economy. Remember, no-one is a prophet in his own land!

Zuckerberg, Bezos, Musk we’re all right up the front at Trumps inauguration.

Why?

A = because Trump is going to make billionaires even richer

Trump is going to cut taxes for the ultra rich and get taxes from tariffs paid for by ordinary Anericans

Fillyboy

Gas112
Mottie

Think that’s great

I wish I was a billionaire, or even better a multi-billionaire. I would love it. I wish the worlds billionaires nothing but good.

Musk seems to do it purely for the tax breaks. He put $9 billion into his own foundation to get a $2 billion tax break. He then gives away the bare minimum each year to satisfy the rules, and often the gifts are to benefit himself in some way:
A lot of these foundations are tax dodges.
Didn't one of Tony Blairs foundations close down because of irregularities.

no puzzle whatsoever the majority of the american electorate voted with their pockets in mind which was one of the biggest topics in the election campaign . Surely you must have seen that in all those news articles you read and news programmes you watched daily

I know that inflation was the major issue. But there is no dispute that the US economy, under Biden, emerged from covid in much better shape than any other major economy and it really is the envy of the world. Are you denying that?

What would you do with it? Are you mainly interested in living it up? Or would you prefer to give it away to help people? Or a bit of both?

im denying nothing the US electorate who were living through it denied it which is why trump won on every front

Both things can be true at the same time. But you don't seem to have the mental flexibility to understand that.

so the US electorate were wrong when the economy was their biggest concern because their standard of living had dropped considerably despite seemingly being the envy of the world . ok
