Hello I'm after some advice on fitting a toilet extract fan, I removed a 110mm soil vent pipe than ran through the roof above the bathroom, but the lead tile that it ran through is still in place, is it possible to get an adaptor to fit to this, as its already a sealed roof penetration although a slightly different size? If so, what fittings would you recommend.

Also whats the benefit of using an inline fan instead of a ceiling mounted?

Many Thanks

Use 110 pipe through the tile to keep the seal simple on the roof. Make the size change in the duct below the roof. Do not forget a condensation trap.

Out of interest what did you do with the soil pipe.

Edit

Also remember that a soil vent pipe can cope with all the rain that enters the vent pipe, it just drains away into the sewers. An extractor vent without an adequate water / condensation trap will not cope with rain coming in from the vent and the fan will flood, rain will drip into the bath room.

The tile is a preformed lead tile, so I can place a 110mm soil pipe through it and try and secure it with silicon to prevnt it falling back through.. What fittings are best for adapting sizes?

I was thinking about placing a cowl of some description on the soil ipe as it protrudes to prevent water ingress...

What size is the vent pipe from the extractor?
In-line impellers, can help reduce the fan noise level within the room of extraction.
