The system usually makes a load gurgle then the 'Lock out' light, lights up whereby there is no hot water or heating. Once the 'reset' button is pressed, it starts working again and we get between an hour and 2 weeks use of the boiler before it happens again. It is very annoying.

Does anyone know what I can do about this?

Thanks for the reply. The cap on the top of the auto air vent appears locked solid and has a fair amount of scale. What would you suggest from here?

If it was overheating due to air not being able to get out it wouldn't run for 2 weeks after you reset it.
COuld be the DHW flow switch is sticking open.
Next time it does it, drop the front and see if there's a bright red led on the circuit board. That light is on when the boiler thinks you're drawing water. If you aren't, then the rads will get exptremely hot before it cuts out.

Could just be a dirty pilot injector though!

Thnaks for the advice. There was indeed a bight light on the cicuit board, so I am having that switch replaced. The real plumber thought that the boiler did not have a 'pilot injector' as such.

How is the weather in 'Antarctica'?

Hi Hoorgi,

I hope you manage to solve the problem.
Can you please post what the problem was about and its solution?

Many thanks
