Sorry guys I have another question. Where's the best starting. On the large wall shall I start from the centre line? On smaller (next to door ) shall I start at the corners?

Thanks for all your help!

I am by no means a tiler or tiling expert but im just going off what ive read on this forum.
Find the centre point of the wall and working outwards horizontly work out where your tile will finnish at the edges.you dont want a little cut at one end and a big cut at the other. Now adjust to fit and then repeat this verticaly and you will have your centre point.start here.

Normally accepted practice as explained but you also need to consider the visual impact when you walk into the room, sanitary fittings & any windows etc; There is nothing worse than walking into a newly tiled room & seeing unequal tile slips in the most visible corners or around windows & thin tile slips at floor level or above baths. Each room is different & it’s best to plan the tile layout around your particular tiles so you can visualise what you will eventually see before committing; quiet often you have to bend normally accepted practice to get the best compromise.

probs the simplest way to explain is start centre of your focal point, whatever is the focal point as you walk into the room, start there, then just work out if you are starting on a full or half tile from your centre line
