I want to wire two lamps in line with a recepticle. I want to be able to switch the lamps and keep the recepticle live. Can I wire it with one single ( one black, one white, and a ground wire ) cable?
 
i am sorry but as we are in the UK we have differnt "wiring codes" than you do, what you suggest is not allowed over here, may i suggest you try here
