Bathroom Light/Fan Wants Two Switches - I Have One

In our bathroom there is a fan attached to a switch. We want to change out that fan and replace it with a fan/light combo. Having bought the combo we now find that it is intended for two switches, one for fan, one for light.

Question: Can we wire this so that both work through one switch? The light/fan has a blue in and a black in, with a single white out. The existing wiring is black and white with a ground. US Electrics.

Thanks!!

I know, my assumption was that blue is the second live connection on the fan (blue is also live in US wiring standards though red and black are more common)
