unfortunately brick wall leading to exteriorIf the wall is a stud wall, you could also work from the reverse side if that is possible.
No, no problem doing that.seems to also be mixed feedback regarding the issue of tiling directly over cabling. would they need to use some sort of metal trunking to protect the cable or is it normally ok with tile adhesive over the PVC cabling. Thanks btw
unfortunately brick wall leading to exterior
ahhhhhhhh ok gotcha, i did think that the top route might have been the easiest but once it reaches past the cupboards there is going to be quite a distance till it reaches the hood which i think might be around 20cm as the hood itself is 90cm but the vent part is obviously alot slimmer than the glass hood part.If a hole can be made in the plasterboard somewhere near the centre of the 'chimney' extractor (where it will get covered) and in-line with the top of the wall cupboards, you could poke a straightened out wire coat hanger to see if there is a clear path to the top of the righthand cupboard.
Getting the power from the socket in the top of the oven housing seems the easiest.
You say the cooker hood is on an outside brick wall?
It is likely the next electrician will fish the new cable in the brick cavity to avoid any damage to the kitchen wall.
Not me lolWho is drilling the vent hole to the outside ?
we agreed on the price of the work that needed doing, which obviously included the much needed wiring for the extractor fan. he said it was an oversight on his end. ok cool, i asked to ensure that it is done and even though it would take longer now for that part of the kitchen its all good, all human, mistakes made etcShould be ok then.
Now what's all this business about you not paying your electrician?
Not me lol
will either be the sparky that i find or will just post up the job locally on trade/fb website. I have an sds which will be able to do the job but just dont have the core drilling bit, but even if i did i dont think i'd attempt it anyways as it seems very laborous to get through at least 2 layers of brick and then whatevers inbetween.
