If you want to use gdp as an indicator, you need to compare gdp with start and end of Tory governments, not dips in between.

I wonder what would happen here to anybody who argued that there might well be short-term economic difficulties at the start of a programme to make the UK a much more socialist society, but the pain would be worth it to attain the end goals of eradication of poverty, eradication of inequality, affordable housing for all, a properly funded healthcare system, public ownership of vital public infrastructure, and so on.

Given the influence the city has on UK gdp, it would be interesting to see how that would pan out.

Those at the helm in Labour, ie key advisors abd in key positions: John McDonnell, Seamus Milne, Andrew Murray, Andrew Fisher.

They are all driven by ideaology, not pragmatism so they will work against the city, not with it. In which case it would be easy to see how tax receipts would go down and spending go up.

What would be short term economic difficulties? Yes I suppose it would be possible to start ending austerity and increase borrowing, but if the s##t hits the fan beforr the 5 year term is up, that would be it.

I personally think this country needs: voting system changed to end 2 party politics, long term strategy to raise productivity, change the housing system.
