Has anyone used the mr central heating site before?

Dunno why you didn't drill the joists yourself and use plastic pipe, pull the plastic pipe in and just go copper near the rads and boiler. Bet he butchers the joists so that your 6x2's become 4x2's. Then when you put the boards down there's no copper pipe to nail through. The boards sit better too.

Then you'd only have to pay one day labour from a RGI (about 2 grand  )

You should invite the OP to your Show (doss)Home to see how it's done. Then you could give suitable names to your properties like the house builders do. Names like 'The Gangmaster' (top of the range) then 'The Carrot Packer' (mid price) and lastly 'The Cockle Picker' (God rest their souls) c/w-out WC, running water etc.

Now now Ladies, check your handbags at the door.

And this is a crochet circle so no knitting needles!

I'm offering the guy a chance to do more of the work himself because it is very, very easy to do. That isn't 'screwing the trade' is it? Do you tidy your own garden and wash your own windows? Is that 'screwing the trade'?

There are good reasons to do it the way I say apart from saving money.

Joists are frequently notched too deep by cowboy plumbers. This weakens the floor and any flat below may get cracks in the ceiling due to flex.

Plastic through the centre of the joist stops that from happening.

Join the real world and stop being a clown.
