He'll get his millions. It's always the fault of the UK.

Private jet, millions in compensation. What a happy chappy.

Is he guilty?
Probably not.. You know our government just pick anyone up off the street and send them to Guantanamo Bay with absolutely no proof of wrongdoing. (lets not let any "facts" get in the way, like where he was captured, what links there are to any terrorist organisation, etc, etc) In the eyes of the PC brigade and his solicitor, he was only in Afghanistan on holiday/ visiting relatives/ quietly reading a Catherine Cookson novel/ fetching ingredients for a curry/ buying a new carpet, etc, etc. ;);)

Mind you, in the photo, for a resident of Guantanamo, he does look decidedly happy.

Is it thought that he will be compensated by Britain? Why?
from http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-34684652 :

"
The government fought a mammoth legal battle to prevent courts disclosing the full extent of what ministers and officials knew about the transfer of men to Guantanamo.

But the claimants ultimately accepted a multi-million pound settlement - meaning the government never had to disclose what happened."

Compensated presumably for his silence?

That article refers to British men. Is he or isn't he?

From what I read, he was detained when trying to enter Pakistan from Afghanistan.

Buying his silence may be the reason but that is not compensation.
