Hi,

we are currently in the process of re-locating through work. One of the houses we have looked at and the boss likes the look of, currently has the boiler located in the small bedroom. There is an airing cupboard on the landing, and we wondered if re-locating the boiler would be an expensive job (for a professional obviously!). Most of the pipework appears to run in the roof.

Budget for a couple of Ks and have some change.

Depends whats involved, make and model of the boiler, flue, post code, access to pipes, the list is endless.

may even pay you to replace the boiler for a steamer if it's getting old.

By the time you've paid for re-routing pipes, put in a vertical flue (?), etc. it's usually not worthwhile to move an old boiler. As has been suggested, probably better to invest in a more efficient condensing boiler and recover at least some of the cost.

If the pipework really is mostly in the roofspace, you could (even) site the boiler up there too.....

How old is the existing one? (roughly) and what make / model?
