Hi,
The fan on my Puma 80 recently started making a loud whine, so I decided to get it replaced. I bought a brand new "old stock" replacement fan off ebay, but when it arrived, I noticed the fan is slightly different from mine (and different from the pictures it was advertised with - the pictures, including the codes, were identical with my fan). I will contact the seller, who has good feedback, and was communicative throughout the transaction, so I believe it's a genuine mistake.
In the mean time, I'd like to check here if the experts amongst you think I could actually use this fan anyway. The only differences are that the fan casing is very slightly larger, and the motor is 80w instead of the original which is 60w. I checked, and physically the larger fan still fits. So effectively, it seems the only real difference is that it's a bit bigger, which to me seems irrelevant (it can possibly even be a good thing), and the motor draws a bit more current.
The model number of my original fan is 10/18750 and the replacement (the bigger one) is 10/19082.
It's more hassle having to send it back than simply use it, if it's ok to do so, and personally I think I could, but I thought I'd double check here on the forum.
Many thanks!
Vlad.
