Sparky forgot the wiring for the cooker hood. Alternative methods?

Long story short, sparky 'forgot' to put in the wiring for the extractor hood/fan which sits above the hob and will be next to the cupboard shown, the walls already been boarded and plastered now aswell (happened to be away during this time otherwise i'd have noticed it straight away).

Obviously the hood is going to be needed so was just trying to think how i would see the options available to us without either having to break/channel into the plasterboard and then having to route a cable upwards from where there is an existing one already (shown in pic) or could one be ran across the top of the cupboards where we have our microwave in a tall housing unit (also shown in pics).

Obviously im not going to be doing any of this ourselves, but that sparky isn't coming back after we had words about it. and now we just want some options we can look into whilst we find a different sparky and do any of the prep necessary so he can just get on with it.

How is the plasterboard fitted? Battens or dot'n'dab?

You can usually get away with just a few holes in the plasterboard, rather than a channel, and feed the cable through.

Is the area going to be tiled?

If you can get above ceiling, you can supply from lighting circuit.

Take the cupboard above the socket off the wall and go up from the socket to place a fused switch or 1g socket above the cupboard. This will minimise the making good and keep the cable in zones

But then you have the issue of getting the cable from the hood to the socket or fused switch.

Fingers crossed you haven’t paid the spark, then you can deduct the additional costs from his bill

ah ok i didnt think about this way, the only problem is that directly above is the bathroom which is already fully tiled so wouldnt be able to get underneath the bathroom.

Unless im guessing if you mean to go via the route of the spotlights. and sorry if i sound stupid but would it not then go o/off via the light switch? lol you can tell i definelty have no idea about eleccy lol

right i think i get you now, so basically take top cupboards off. take faceplate off the socket on the wall, and then go up from the inside of there upwards because obviously it must have a clear section where that cables coming from, fish the cable from wherever we decide to pop out above the cupboard and put the fused switch/socket there.

If the wall is a stud wall, you could also work from the reverse side if that is possible.

ahh good point, i guess i can try find the route easier if i tap the plasterboard and should be able to tell where the hollow spots are and do as suggested. and no doesnt matter if the PB has holes in it as it will be tiled over.

seems to also be mixed feedback regarding the issue of tiling directly over cabling. would they need to use some sort of metal trunking to protect the cable or is it normally ok with tile adhesive over the PVC cabling. Thanks btw
