hello thnx for your help on this topic ..
//www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=103687
i went straight to the boiler where a pipe was leaking onto the boiler thermostat connection.

Now after taking off boilers cover undoing thermostat moving it out of way of the water , i replaced boiler cover and told house holder they needed to get themselves a plumber/ heating engineer.
I wondered to myself have i broke the law under corgi? by removing boiler cover? where do i stand as Electrician? What are the boundrys between this being an electrical fault and a Corgi mans territory?

You can do anything to the boiler which does not involve the "gas train" or a safety device.

So no to fans, flue, APS, gas valve. o/h stats etc.

You can replace the pump, plate HE and water carrying parts.

The PCB is another matter. If its a simple one with no involvement in the gas critical actions then you can chamge it. However many have setup adjustments which need to be done when they are replaced.
